You’re enough

You’re enough

Sometimes in life you are confronted with situations where you feel or are made to feel like you don’t measure up. You aren’t the right dress size, your hair isn’t perfect, and your clothes are all wrong. You may feel judged and ashamed, but let me tell you that’s not what really matters in this life, though today’s culture says otherwise. I would love to look perfect and have everything just right in my life, but the reality is life happens. For so many reasons we end up in places we never thought we’d be or in situations that can cause sadness or despair.

When facing the ‘you’re so far from perfect’ situations in life you can turn to the scriptures and be reminded that God looks on the heart.

See 1Samuel 16:7

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Of course we should take care of ourselves and we can ask the Lord to help us with that if we need help in that area. Don’t feel condemned, but always remember what’s most important to God is what is the state of my heart. How is my relationship with Him? I have to focus my thoughts and attention on Him and bring these feelings of inadequacy to Him. He is the lover of my soul, the one who loves me with an everlasting love, the one who will never leave me nor forsake me. Jesus died for me knowing I would never be perfect. I’m thankful that he accepts me with all of my shortcomings.

Romans 10:9 says

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Accept Jesus and begin a faith walk with him. You will experience His love and acceptance, His peace and compassion. You can bring your burdens to Him.

Salvation is free, so why not turn to Jesus.

How will you shine today?
