Don’t Worry
God doesn’t want us to worry. When situations arise that cause worry, it’s time to fight to take control of our minds.
We have a choice in this situation. One option is to continuously think about the issue and work it over and over in our minds trying to determine the whys and the hows, etc. This can cause anxiety, doubt, fear, and panic to set in. It doesn’t normally result in a positive outcome.
The other option is to pray and recite/meditate on the Word of God. Each and every time the issue comes to mind say a prayer.
You can also gather an ‘arsenal’ of scriptures for the spiritual battle. For example, if you are feeling anxious refer to:
- Matthew 6:25-30
- Philippians 4:6-7
This spiritual battle is for control of our minds, which ultimately results in control of our actions because thoughts are the seeds to the actions we take.
To win the battle we have to fight, and because worrying is a common issue for many of us we can prepare ourselves in advance. Have the scriptures ready or better yet memorize them, so no matter when worry rears it’s ugly head, God can bring them to mind to strengthen us.
Now instead of our default action being to worry, let’s make our new default to pray and meditate on God’s word!
How will you shine today?
